What is palo santo?

Holy wood from South America, with a scent you won't forget quickly. Where it comes from and how to burn it.

Palo santo is Spanish for holy wood. It comes from the Bursera graveolens tree, which grows in the dry forests of South America. It has long been burned as incense in those regions.

What does it smell like?

Warm and sweet, with a touch of citrus and resin. The scent stays in the room for a while after burning.

How do you burn it?

Light one end of the stick, let it burn for half a minute and blow out the flame. The wood then smoulders gently and goes out by itself after a few minutes. Put it on a heat-resistant dish and don't leave it unattended. You can often use the same stick several times.

In the shop we have palo santo from Indian Spirit, alongside incense and incense holders.
